Camden Pest Control News:
Rats in Camden parks by paulg on 28/02/2012 |
When you think of green spaces in Camden you may not think that there are that many of them. There are more than you think. We all enjoy a leisurely walk in the park on a lovely sunny day, having our lunch sitting on the grass or walking the dog in them. This is the last place you want to find a colony of rats. But that is a lot more probable than you know. Some local residents are finding this out in some parks of Camden. Despite park users knowing about the problem, there are no warning signs. It seems that grounds workers that look after the parks do know about the rats but are having trouble getting on top of the problem. They may have spread into surrounding gardens and houses. Rats breed at a quick and vast rate, and spread quickly, so if you see some please inform Pest Control ASAP. There are measures you can take to help prevent the spread of rats in your area. The first thing to do is make sure you tidy up. Don’t leave any discarded food rubbish in the open. This includes food wrappers, as the scent of your unfinished lunch will attract rodents. When and where possible, try not to leave your household waste out overnight as rats are nocturnal and will do their food foraging mostly at around 2-3 am when it is quietest. |
