Camden Pest Control News:
Mice in Camden cheap store by paulg on 02/04/2012 |
A cheap pound style stores in Camden town was recently fined £14,000 + costs due to a mice infestation. An investigation by environmental health officials found dozens bags and boxes of dried foods had been chewed by mice. The storeroom of the premises had been an issue of an infestation a year previous and was voluntarily closed by the owners to try and deal with the problem. The first mice infestation was dealt with promptly and efficiently, but due to staff negligence and bad hygiene the mice returned a year later. A council official said “I hope that the penalties imposed by the court in this case show the consequences of not having good hygiene procedures so that local people and visitors feel confident buying items in Camden’s many fantastic food outlets.” It is always a problem for businesses in central London to keep pests at bay because of the way our city is. That is not to say we are dirty, just that with the amount of visitors that come to London from all over the country, and the world, there is unfortunately plenty of food waste and food debris all over the place, even the places the cleaners can’t see or reach. As much as most companies and businesses have a controlled measure of cleaning and pest control implemented there are still some that try to evade this by doing their own pest control. If these premises are kept in a good state of hygiene then there is not really much of a problem. But no matter how clean you think your business is, due to the speed of today’s world there will always be food for pests. The long and short of the story is, if you don’t want your business heavily fined, or worse closed down, keep it clean and use professional pest control. |
